Our latest customer purchased a black Ford F-150 a few months back but had taken the car to a few outdoor excursions and trips. Because of these trips, the car's paint had gotten heavy swirls and scratches all over the painted surfaces. The customer had contacted us to install a 5-year graphene coating on his truck and was also concerned about removing some scratches and swirls so that his car would look factory-new.
We started the process of coating by first washing the car using deionized water and pH-neutral foam cannon graphene wash that cleared the surface of all dirt, debris, and contaminants. After the wash, we performed a clay bar treatment on all painted surfaces that had above-surface contaminants. Then we used our high-speed buffers with medium-cut polish and light-cut pads to remove some of the deeper scratches and swirls while still leaving a pristine finish. Though a two-step process would have been ideal, since the vehicle is black, the customer wanted to keep things simple and wanted us to do the job with a single step.
As you can see from the pictures below, performing even a single-step polishing job on the car's paint, when done professionally, can achieve a significant impact on swirls and scratches on a black vehicle.
After the polishing process, we performed a detox treatment with a dedicated detox solution that stripped the car of all polishing residue and fillers from the last step while priming the surface for proper coating adhesion and bond formation. Once the detox treatment was completed on all surfaces of the car, we installed a 5-year graphene coating on all the painted surfaces, polycarbonates(lights), front windshield, top glass, and face of the wheels.
Overall, the customer was blown away by the results and gave us a double thumbs up knowing that his new car looked nice and presentable when his wife would join him on his future trips!
