Napa, California: Properly detailing a supercar such as a Ferrari 488 Spider requires skill and caution. Many times high-end and luxury sports cars can have their finish easily ruined by water spots from a poor wash or a steep decline in resale value due to swirls, scratches, and poor paint conditions. At Robust, we know precisely how to take care of modern paint systems on high-end vehicles, be it a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Mclaren, or an Acura NSX.
We started our detailing by bringing the Ferrari outside of the garage and immediately rinsing it down with a pressure washer hooked up to a water deionizer. Using a water deionizer to rinse and wash the car is critical since it reduces the likelihood of water spots and mineral deposits forming on the vehicle. After the rinse, we used a high-quality graphene foam wash with soft microfiber wash mitts and a grit guard to ensure that there would be no scratches and swirls forming on the car from the wash. After the final rinse down of the graphene wash soap, we dried the entire Ferrari Spider with ultra-plush high-GSM drying towels to ensure that the surface was pristine and smooth. We then moved the car into the garage and used a wireless blower with rubber tips to carefully remove all water from nooks, crannies, and corners to ensure that water wouldn't drip and etch on any of the car's surfaces. It is important to note that using a blower after the wash is a critical step in maintaining the vehicle's surface as any soapy drips or residue has the potential to permanently etch and damage the paint job of the Ferrari.
After the wash, we inspected the surface to see if the painted surfaces required a surface decontamination or clay bar treatment. Noticing that the paint on the Ferrari was clear of any decontamination, our technicians proceeded to use a graphene-based sealant to add a layer of protection on the vehicle that would last 6-12 months.
Lastly, we dressed the tires, did a quick vacuum and cleaning of the floor mats, and added protection to all the plastic, leather, and vinyl surfaces of the Ferrari 488. We completed the details by doing a final inspection by walking around the vehicle with a color match and detailing light. As a cherry on top, the customer was blown away by the detailing job we performed for his Ferrari 488 Spider.
