Gilroy, California: Our current customer has had about 6 of his previous cars, including multiple Teslas and EVs, done from us. The Pontiac Solstice held a special place for him since it was a car that he went to the factory to have the engine customized by him. After having some mechanical work done on the Pontiac Solstice, his goal was to make it glossy and protect it for years to come.
Since the car was relatively clean, we gave the vehicle our signature rinseless wash which removed light dust and debris from the painted surfaces, wheels, and glass surfaces. We noticed that the car’s silver paint had lots of water spots on it due to the vehicle being parked outside in the rain while it was being mechanically worked on. We recommended giving the car’s paint a two-step paint correction followed by a 9-year graphene coating. The customer agreed.
We followed up the wash with a clay bar treatment which got rid of any above surface contaminants that would have scratched the paint if we had polished and coated the car. The clay bar treatment also left a silky smooth surface on the car’s painted surface. After the clay bar treatment, we compounded the Pontiac Solstice using a heavy-cut compound and a microfiber cutting pad, made using Italian sheep wool. Since compounding the paint is aggressive and leaves light swirl marks, we followed up the compounding process by buffing the vehicle’s paint using a light-cut pad and finishing polish on a high-speed buffer which left a mirror-like gloss and slick surface.
Finally, we performed a detox treatment on the painted and glass surfaces which stripped the vehicle of all polishing residue and primed the Pontiac for a coating installation. We then installed the graphene coating on the car, one panel at a time, till the entire vehicle, including the lights, wheels, paint, and glass surfaces were covered in our signature 9-year graphene coating.
The customer was blown away by the gloss and slickness of the vehicle and appreciated the fact that we got rid of all water spots that were on the vehicle’s painted surfaces.
