We Installed a Full Front Paint Protection Film and 10 Year Graphene Coating on a New Tesla Model 3 in Santa Rosa, California

Santa Rosa, California: Our current customer had just purchased a Tesla Model 3 and sought to protect the vehicle for the long haul since he planned to keep the car for a very long time. One of the best and most economical ways to provide complete protection on the vehicle is to add paint protection film on the front to eliminate any potential rock chip damage while covering the remaining car with a graphene or ceramic coating to prevent any chemical damage from bird bombs, tree sap, and environmental contaminants.

We started by giving the car a graphene foam cannon pressure wash with deionized water to remove all debris and dirt from the Tesla Model 3. After the wash, we performed a clay bar treatment to remove all above surface contaminants from the painted surfaces. The Model 3 was only a month and a half old and therefore the amount of clay bar treatment required wasn't a whole lot.

After the surface decontamination and clay bar treatment, we performed a one-step polishing job that not only removed fine scratches and swirls but also primed the car's paint for proper adhesion of both paint protection film and graphene coating.

We then bulk-wrapped the full hood, both the fenders, front bumper, headlights, and back of the mirror of the Tesla while giving the hood and fender a tuck around the panels to make sure that there was minimal to no area on the front of the vehicle which would get impacted by rock chips.

After the paint protection film installation, we worked around the car, panel by panel, to install the graphene coating with a soft microfiber applicator and edgeless microfiber towel to protect the Tesla against chemical damage. Graphene coatings, similar to traditional ceramic coatings, chemically bond with the car's clear coat and plastic surfaces to form a thin but hard shell that repels chemical damage and leaves a hydrophobic surface that beads and sheets off water.

Finally, we performed a final inspection and continued to put down or trim edges that may potentially lift over time. Overall, the customer was exceptionally happy with our work and as you can see from the pictures in this article, edges, compared to pre-cut paint protection film, are much better protected against physical damage.
