Napa, California: Many new car owners don’t know this but most of the products dealerships use are made for maximum profit and not maximum effectiveness. Our current customer from Napa had just purchased a red Lexus NX350H but after her first trip from Napa to Mount Shasta and back, the sealant/coating called Cilajet, usually marketed as a long-term protection product on new cars, failed right away after the trip. Not only did the sealant fail but her new Lexus NX350H also got permanent bird bombs and insect blemishes due to the sealant failing right away.

Initially, the customer had hired us to do a wash, clay, and wax job but that is when we discovered the blemishes that started to appear on her new vehicle’s paint. She asked us about our coating offerings and how we could remove all the paint blemishes on her car’s paint by performing a paint correction on it. She went with the 5-year graphene coating that we recommended to her since she likes to travel from Napa to all over the Bay Area for work and travels.

We started the process of installing the graphene car coating by giving the car a rinseless wash. We had to wash the car inside the garage because it was raining outside and our customer wanted the Lexus washed without creating wet puddles inside the garage itself! Hence, we used our rinseless wash. After performing a clay bar treatment to remove any above-surface contaminants, we performed a compounding pass on the horizontal surfaces and the vertical surfaces of the car which had blemishes from the sealant failure. Compounding is an aggressive method in which we expertly use high-speed buffers in conjunction with a compounding foam wool pad alongside a cutting compound to remove deep imperfections on a car’s paint. However, compounding is very aggressive and tends to leave swirl marks which have to be removed by a second step of polishing the vehicle.

After the compounding of the Lexus’s paint, we performed a complete polishing job on the vehicle which got rid of the compounding swirl marks, fine scratches, and swirls on the remaining paint, and primed the paint for proper coating bond while turning the vehicle’s color into a bright and glossy ruby.

We then detoxed the vehicle with a detox treatment that not only cleansed the paint of any polish residue but also served as a catalyst for proper coating adherence. Finally, we installed the coating on the entire Lexus, including the painted surfaces, polycarbonates(lights), front windshield, top glass, and the face of the wheels. Our customer couldn’t believe that her new car looked better than when she picked it up from the showroom. Now, her Lexus has proper graphene-based protection that will last for years!

Cars, after our homes, are the second largest financial investment we make in our lives. Did you know that your car's cosmetics are valued at about 30% of its retail price and having a professional film, paint corrected, and ceramic coating installed on your vehicle can save you thousands of dollars in maintenance and cosmetic damage while maintaining a higher than normal resale value? Keeping a meticulous appearance using our paint correction expertise and protecting it using paint protection films (PPF) and coatings can put money back into your wallet!
